Hello! Welcome to my blog. Thank you for taking the time to read Healthybabyfitmom.
I first became interested in pre- and post natal fitness when I began training my first pregnant client a little more than 6 years ago. Throughout my undergraduate, graduate and personal training certification studies, I did not receive a lot of knowledge in pre- and post-natal fitness. Before training my first pre-natal client, I started to research exercising and strength training while pregnant. To my disbelief there was not a lot of good quality information out there. Sure, there were a few books written by a mom who lost her pregnancy weight but not a lot of quality, scientific and useful information. Since then, I always knew I wanted to do ‘something’ with pre- and post natal fitness. Though I was not exactly sure what my ‘something’ was, I felt that to be credible I needed not only more experience training pregnant women and post-natal clients but I wanted to go through pregnancy myself. I wanted to experience the hormonal, physical and emotional changes of pregnancy so I could relate to my clients. I also wanted to record my fitness journey while pregnant and while getting back into shape before attempting to educate others. However, since our journey to get pregnant did not go as expected (which will be a another blog post soon) I was not in the emotional state to start a blog. After my son was born, I did record and makes notes of my journey to get back in shape but again, as anyone knows with a newborn and especially a first baby, I was learning everything as it came along and was completely exhausted. Again, not the best time to start a blog. So after finally figuring out that my passion is educating others about pre- and post- natal fitness, I decided to start a blog as my husband and I embark on our journey for Baby #2.
Though this blog will contain my personal journey of becoming pregnant, my fitness during and after my pregnancy, I ultimately hope it serves as a education resource for all of my readers. This blog will contain the following:
